Only received half of my belongings

Price increased twice, once just days before pickup, and again on the day of pickup. Then they subcontract to other movers without real companies. Our things were delivered 12 days after they were supposed to be, and then we only received half of what was picked up. Family heirlooms, furniture, appliances, all still missing. And the company will not speak to us or explain how to file a claim.

Absolute Worst Moving Nightmare.

Like everyone I would say DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! 39 things broken and destroyed. Arrived and increased their fee by 600.00. Dumped my things into packing boxes. Not wrapped. Damage galore. Delivery date was a joke. Nightmare of daily calls. On hold for over an hour every call. Nasty customer service.

Damage and loss at .60 a pound. Ridiculous. They make filing a claim a nightmare so you give up. Literally I’ve been calling since Nov 20. It’s 2/17/20.

I would hire anyone before hiring these people again. I’m calling the BBB.

Great Job 100%.

I needed a mover pretty last minute because of a job transfer to another state. I called 2 movers who wanted to up charge me for every little thing because of the short notice. I'm glad I called one more mover - United Worldwide Moving. They understood the stress I was under and explained the whole process and didn't add on a bunch of charges that the other guys where trying to do. All my stuff showed up on time and I couldn't be happier with a job well done. Thanks Guys!

Worst company I ever worked with for Moving.

This company United Worldwide Moving have given a worst moving experience. They initially gives all false promise and get around 500$ from you, then they will show their real face. For me they did not even come on the day which they initially told to pick up the things. They hired some other movers and finally picked my things. For this I have called around 100 times in 2 days.

Then comes the next part, delivery. Still they haven't delivered my things. It's been 10 days since I asked them for the delivery. Every single day I call them, their customer care is the worst. They did not even answer your call and put you on hold for ever.

Even after several attempts if I get someone to talk they will simply say next 4 days, next 2 days you will get delivery. But so far nothing happened.

Is there anyone who can help to give a complaint against them for some legal action?

Still no stuff.

I thought this was a good company. Their good at sales, but not service! Our stuff was picked up three weeks ago and still isn't here. Despite many phone calls to different departments, I can't get any information except that the truck is "broken down." My father is 92 years old and this is putting a tremendous strain on him. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Where is my stuff?

I used United Worldwide Moving for transport of my things from Ohio to Florida. They were supposed to be there on 10/11, but they called and asked if it could be 10/13 due to truck issues. I agreed as that worked well for me. On 10/13 no one showed up during the promised 3 hour window of 8-11am. After many calls and voicemails, someone finally contacted me and promised a truck to be at my home by 6pm . They did arrive and loaded my things into a truck. It is 10/30, I am in Florida, and I have yet to receive my things. I keep getting promised that I am on the schedule for delivery, and this week, I was told that there was a mixup with dispatch, and it will be next week. There is no professionalism by anyone in this company. No communication between the office and the dispatchers. It has been very stressful and I just want my stuff! Do yourself a favor and don't hire this company full of fakers and scammers.

Long-distance move from Fontana, CA to Renton, WA

Worst experience ever.

United moving company was suppose to pick up my belongings on 11/1/2019 with a pickup window of 11am-1pm and transport it to Renton, WA on 11/3/2019. On the first I called at approximately 12pm asking when they would be arriving as they said they would call me an hour out. The woman on the line notified me that they are running late and will be there from 3pm to 5pm. They never came never called tried calling the business they seemed to be closed. The driver called me at 8pm stating that they had car trouble and would be able to come the next day 11/2/2019- 11/3/2019 never came. Called on Monday 11/4/2019 to get my money back to go with a different moving company they said they would give me a discount assured me they would get my stuff from 2pm-4pm so I proceeded to let them pick up my things. They said my things would be delivered 11/6-7/2019. I proceeded to call yesterday 11/6/2019 to see when my things will be delivered they said 11/7/2019 no later than 11/8/2019 that morning 8am. I called today 11/7/2019 to again get a deliver ETA they said Monday 11/11/2019. I stated to them that's unacceptable they said my stuff was still in Los Angeles, CA. I asked if I can have a family member in California pick up my stuff with a U-haul and I pay them what they’ve done so far she proceed to tell me no and on top of that she was going to refund me back my deposit and that I would have to pay them through wire (zelle or cash app) so I can’t dispute my deposit. I proceeded to tell the lady I already paid them I’m not going to go out of my way to pay you a different way as I already paid the company she proceeded to process the refund anyway and continue to tell me my things will be held hostage until I wire them the deposit again.

Brokers who do not care. No furniture reassembly at destination.

This is a crap company which does not respond to customers once payment is made. They are brokers who just book you and forget what the next vendor is servicing you. For my case the movers disassembled the furniture but at destination they did not assemble it back. No response from United Worldwide now. The movers say that they do not work as per contract agreements United Worldwide has. Never ever book these people for your move.

Liars - Brokers - Don't Use.

It's a shame that people cannot be honest!

I was sold by Holly stating that they owned their own trucks and all the usual jargin to watch out for other companies, etc. I called, emailed and texted almost daily to discuss details and asked no less than 20 times, if they were a broker. I would have been fine with that if communication had been clear. Don't lie!!

I was quoted the wrong cubic feet, they sent another company to pick up my belongings. Driver arrived without a crew, in a rented Penske Truck, not company truck. Driver didn't know what he was picking up ad manager got on phone and said it would cost me another $3,200 to ship my stuff. They sent S&M Relo instead of United.

I had spent 3 weeks discussing inventory and even sent photos of the actual items, already packed & wrapped.

I had to send them away, report to my bank and fortunately, was able to recover my deposit by moving quickly.

So sad that the shipping industry is like this.

Horrible Movers! Scammers for sure.

We had an almost identical experience to others posted. Turns out United WWMoving IS NOT the same as United Van lines. They estimate and all parts of the contract which say it is binding means nothing because it is a third-party contracted mover that comes for your things. Once they start to pack , the estimate is now somehow 2timea what was quoted and NO guaranteed delivery time. Quotes were so far off and after talking to the person who showed up in a Penske truck for my things we were told we had to sign another contract and whatever United promised meant nothing. We ended up refusing the service on the spot, left with my furniture sitting outside in freezing temps for me to deal with. The movers wanted us to give them cash under the table to put the furniture back in the storage unit. Shame on them..my husband is disabled and couldn’t move the furniture so I had to do so by myself. NEVER HURR THIS COMPANY. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH BBB!

Do Not Ever Use This Company or American Home Relocation.

I wanted to give them 0 stars, but it wouldn't let me.
Everything that was told to us has been a lie by United World Wide and their sister company American Home Relocation.
We were called 3 different times to see if we could move up our pick up date from 12/26/19 to 12/24/19 which is Christmas eve so that it could be on a direct route. We cut our plans short and hurried our packing to accommodate them, even received a $100 off for the inconvenience. I have all the phone records to prove this, when I let them know this because we are looking for our stuff that is still in Kansas on 1/8/2020 (and now told most likely it will be February 3 before we get it.) They told me their records say we called them to move up our pick up-date. LIE.
United World Wide, said our movers would show us how much space we were supposed to take up, for our price. They never did, they got to us in the dark 7 pm Christmas Eve and left at almost midnight. then they say we went over our space, not that we were ever shown our space and we didn't even take as much as was on our inventory list because we were in such a rush to help them. So we were charged more.
All of our paperwork says delivery on 1/3/2020. We called all day on 1/2/ and 1/3 before we got someone to answer us. That was the first day they might be able to deliver. Then they said we will hear by Wed. 1/8/2020 at the latest with a 24 hour window for delivery. Today is 1/8/2020. Our items are in a warehouse, not even loaded on a truck. They are now saying maybe by 1/14/2020.. but that they have 21 business days from 1/3 to deliver which is 2/3/2020. NONE of this was told to us until today.
The 2 women at the 2 different companies were rude, didn't care, and kept changing the story. When I asked to speak to their manager, they said they didn't have one. When I asked to speak with dispatch to get a date, Cindy at United gave me a number, when I called that number, Tina at American Home relocation said, there is no number for dispatch it was her only. I asked if she could conference us in so I could speak with them, nope was her answer.
She didn't care at all. At one point I asked her if this was her stuff wouldn't she be frustrated, she just laughed.
We received no less than 7 calls looking for more money because different companies did different things. United didn't even know that AHR picked up our stuff early until I called looking for our truckload. However, we had to call 6 different numbers looking for someone to talk to us about our delivery over 2.5 days, because no-one would call us back.
They say their phones are recorded, which I hope is true because this way I can prove that they LIE regarding everything.
SAVE your money, and go with another company.

These people are outrageously unethical, and don't care.

I wish I saw this before agreeing to use them. I told them I had a full 5 x 10 unit to be sent from TX to NY. They said they can offer a special piggy back deal and send me a lower offer. The agreement says 300 sq ft which I immediately questioned and they said it should be fine and won't be a problem. Two days before the move the guy in charge calls and wants to do an inventory and charge me an additional $1100. I tell him no and they say they'll pack 300 sq ft and leave whatever else.

I cancelled our move with them because of the bad reviews. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write one! I have called no less than 10x to get back our deposit and I am put on hold or sent to "Sarah's" voicemail every time. The operator is rude and gives me push back every time I call. Awful customer service and movers.

I had called United World Wide Moving for my move and was not informed I was being contracted out to some random company. I based my move on a reputable company not just some random no named company. They called me to see if I could do my move a day early which was fine but not only did I have to pay more as I was supposedly over the weight restriction but they damaged my fridge and doorways! When I called United they took no responsibility for this whole situation and just passed the buck! Now I have to file a claim and get $0.60 lb reimbursement which is not going to cover the cost of my fridge! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR UNITED WORLD WIDE MOVING! I would give them both a zero if it was an option.

Bad Business Practice All Around!

Christine I do believe really did all she could to help us. However it was to NO AVAIL!! The last thing I was told was to send an email to the following email address: info@uwmoving.com. Below is day by day log of my interaction with the people involved and the contact that was made:

BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE ALL AROUND! This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOVING COMPANY TO ANYONE. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!! None of their price estimates will be even close to what the final price will be. They will hit you with tons of hidden fees. Your initial agreed upon contract is not valid and you will be forced to sign another contract once the movers arrive. The call center employees do their best to help but can’t do anything because they have no power. Below is a detailed list of events that I’ve went through with United Worldwide Moving:

11/19/2019

We set up an original move date of December 28th, 2019 with a backup moving date of December 29th, 2019. The original price we were given was $2,097.56. I would pay $815 deposit to assure the price $600 dollars cash to the drivers upon arrival and the rest when it was delivered to its destination.

12/26/2019

United World Wide Moving calls us to clarify the inventory. Assures us they would arrive on the 28th of December in between the times of 8-10AM.

12/28/2019

United World Wide Moving calls us to inform us that they wouldn’t be able to do the move on the 28th because of inclement weather. We were later informed by the driver that the inclement weather delay was a lie. He told us that he was in Philadelphia and they made him make another stop on the way to me and would run out of time. The weather for that day was partly cloudy, 63 degrees. The driver assured me that he would arrive between 3-5PM. This wasn’t an issue because the backup date was put in place for a reason. It’s just extremely unprofessional to lie to your customer about the weather.

12/29/2019

After the waiting all day and to make sure that the move was as seamless as possible for the movers. I took apart every single item that needed to be broken down and moved all the items into two rooms. All boxes were packed by me (services paid for in the original estimate). Around 6:30 we began to try and call the moving company because we've not received an update after being told they would inform us when the driver was on the way.

12/30/2019

I called the company first thing in the morning and were told that the driver tried to call us and didn’t get an answer, so he continued his route. This was not true, there were two phone numbers on file and neither one received a call or had a voicemail. After an hour of back and forth, they admitted the truck was full and couldn’t come do the pick up because of that. They assured me they would accommodate us as best they could because of all the troubles. I told them I had to be out of my apartment by the 1st or I would face fines for breaking my lease agreement.

12/31/2019

We finally spoke to a manager after days of constantly trying to get one on the phone. He assured us that he would do the move himself on the 1st and they would do their best to assist me on the fees from breaking my lease agreement. They told me that the driver would arrive in between 7-9AM on January 1, 2020.

1/1/2020

The movers didn’t show up until 7:36PM were extremely rude and unprofessional. They were not affiliated with Worldwide Moving. They had their own contract. This contract would be the binding contract and any agreement made before them was null. After everything was moved into the truck, they told me the prices and it was $1803 more than the initial contract stated. That is almost double the original estimate. The movers improperly stacked items and did not maximize the space on the truck. I, personally had to get on the truck and rearrange some things to try and condense some space.

1/2/2019

Finally received a photo copy of a Bill of Lading taken from a phone, sent via text. This is very unprofessional for a business.

No one will contact us or talk to us about any discounts or refunds.

Overall, this moving company has been proven to be untrustworthy, dishonest, misleading and conniving. I have never experienced a transaction with a company that has been handled this poorly. They haven’t assisted/compensated us on any of the THEIR MISHAPS. Instead, they have decided to charge us nearly twice as much and hold my belongings hostage.

1/23/2020

Still waiting to receive our furniture. Hoping for the best as far as that goes.

They STOLE my money.

I paid a security deposit to this company in December for a move that was happening in mid January. A week or so after I paid the deposit, I called to cancel my move with them. I was more than within the allotted timeframe allowed. First the "accountant" was EXTREMELY rude and yelled at my husband. We finally got them to agree to the refund and said it would be deposited in my bank within 7-10 business days. When I waited two weeks for it to hit my account and it didn't, I reached out again. They said they resubmitted it and gave me a transaction number for reference. To make a horrible story shorter, I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK, and now they are not returning my emails or messages. They are scammers, thieves, and NOBODY should be doing business with them.

ZERO Stars.

This company is literally a scam. Please avoid at all costs. I scheduled a move with them because their customer service people are really good. They said that I had up until 48 hours before the move to cancel with a full refund of the deposit I paid. Well, I canceled, weeks ago, and still haven't gotten a refund. I've called once a week trying to understand where my money is and every time they have a different excuse - "refunds aren't processed until Fridays", "Your refund was processed, but it takes 3-5 days to actually get into your account", etc.

They have stolen almost $1000 from me and I have no idea how to get it back short of taking them to court. I even have a signed contract saying that I was eligible for a refund! I can only imagine what would have happened if we'd actually gone through with using them for our move.

Worst experience I have ever had for any good or service. I could write a very lengthy response but we will keep it short. Movers re-quoted us 4 times. Movers showed up a day late. Movers overcharged us and when asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience on a $7k move, they are so gracious to offer $50 for any inconveniences. Scammers!!

This company is a SCAM! I signed a contract, paid a deposit of $500, and called back the same day and cancelled. Holly, my representative, acted understanding and said I would get my refund back because I called within the timeframe. A few weeks later I noticed my card was still charged $500 so I disputed it with my credit card company. Well here I am today on the phone with my credit card company because they reapplied the charge. This company faked an agreement saying they arrived atmy pick up address (which they did not) on January 24 (this wasn’t even my date I agreed to move on) and said I cancelled that day. Saying they tried to negotiate a more reasonable offer! First of all I did not meet with anyone on January 24! The contract I signed in January and the contact they sent over to my credit card bureau ARE 2 DIFFERENT CONTRACTS! I have tried repeatedly to call Holly, my rep from this moving company. No answer. I am really thinking about getting a lawyer! This is ridiculous. Please read these comments and run!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Midleading, Scammers.

Do not use United Worldwide Moving. They are absolutely unreliable. We set up our move from MI to CA. They arrived at our home to move our belongings out AFTER MIDNIGHT. They used a random, old box truck not associated with the company. The movers tried to get us to pay them CASH and said we owed much more than we were quoted.

Upon moving to CA, we gave them a 1 month notice about our move in date. They confirmed. One week before our move in, they said we gave them a different date and that our things "could be there this week, or the next. Usually within a few days of your requested date we get it there. We will call you when we load it up." NO CALLS CAME FOR OVER A WEEK AFTER OUR MOVE IN DATE.

We called and called. We constantly received excuse after excuse. Nearly a month has gone by, and we still DO NOT have our belongings. We have been in our empty apartment while this company disrespects their customers.

Finally, they give us a date that they will be here. They say our complex will not fit the truck they are sending, so we can pay $350 for a "shuttle" to take our things to our apartment - and then they charge $75 for every 7 steps that they must carry things up. So an additional $500 on top of the initial quote that supposedly covered everything. They are scammers. Our other option was to rent a Uhaul ourselves, but they will not held load or unload our belongings. We will not give them another dime, so that is our plan.

Of course, they tell us the truck will be here Thursday. We rent our Uhaul, take off work, free up our day - and then AFTER WE CONTACT THE COMPANY 24 HOURS IN ADANCE - something THEY told us they would do - we get notice that the truck has "a radiator issue and the delivery is looking more like Saturday".

Every single worker makes excuses, is unreliable, they do not care about their customers, and will try every tactic to try and get your money without putting any speck of quality service into their initiative. They should be out of business.

DO NOT USE UNITED WORLDWIDE MOVING.

We paid a freaking $2,000.00 deposit in January of 2020 for a nice taking place from Arizona to Arkansas in May of 2020. The week of the move I never heard from anyone. I couldn’t get ANYONE on the phone to figure out what day they’d actually arrive. Then I started digging up info on the company and could tell it was fishy. I was forced to find another company on a Monday for a 1100mile move on Saturday. I cancelled in my allotted window but it was like pulling teeth to get a confirmation for this cancellation. It’s now been almost one month and they have yet to refund my money. I have been given excuse after excuse about where my money is so finally I’m letting the bank handle it. This company is a JOKE! Lies, Misleading, Scammers.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Going to try and keep this review simple. This company is a scam and you will pay more than what was initially quoted. Our price went up four times for our move. The first quote was for $3200. We got another phone call two days before. We were told they wanted to review what the initial quote was for our things that needed to be moved and the price went up to $5600. The final time it went up was on the day they arrived and the charges went up another $8,000. We had no choice as our home was closing the next day and we had to be out of the home. To top things off, our things were not delivered for approximately 20+ days. Every time I would try and get an update I was told I had to pay more money before they would have our things delivered. I was then told to pay another $3600 upon delivery or our things would not be unloaded from the truck and that we would incur further expenses. Please, do yourself a favor and do not hire this company. They do not comply with moving company guidelines. People, please research and know your rights so that you are not a product of a scam. Research the company and definitely read reviews. There are far too many people who had to learn the hard way from crooks like these.

Upon pick up they said I was off my cubic footage and said I had to pay another $435.00 . They kept my things in a ware house for a week when they said I was on its way. U can't hardley get ahold of them after they have ur money. They also hang up on you if u call. Then on delivery they charged me anorher $ 147.oo and if I didn't pay they would hold my things with extra charges. The man named John was completely rude and a cocky jerk about it and kept hanging up on me. So 2 different stories of extra charges. I also had an exspensive electric guitar with accessories that was missing. I filed a claim and called PD. Not sure if anythingwill be about it.
